Wild Mushroom Walk

Service Description

Join Ariel Bonkoski for a guided hike to explore the wondrous woods in search of mushrooms! We will start with going over some basic mushroom foraging information, talk about some mushrooms we might see, and some hike guidelines. We will then embark through the woods to find and identify mushrooms! We can absolutely harvest mushrooms that are edible, medicinal, or have other uses. We will wrap up our adventure with some information on storing or preserving the mushrooms we have found, as well as cooking tips for any edible mushrooms we have found. Class should take approximately 2 to 2 and a half hours depending on how many mushrooms we are finding and collecting! This event takes place within city limits of Duluth, Minnesota. A precise location will be emailed out the evening before class. Recommended items to bring: comfortable hiking clothes/shoes, beverages. Optional items to bring: notepad/pen to take notes about the mushrooms we are finding, camera, a basket/paper bag/mesh bag to carry mushrooms in, mushroom books to compare our finds.
